A few of my favorite discoveries during the 2.0 training were library thing and also some of the generators that I had no idea before existed. The 2.0 exercises really made me realize how much technology is out there and how quickly it is changing, it has really motivated me to keep a closer watch on technology and to try to stay familiar with changes and new innovations.
There really is not much that I would change about the 2.0 training, the blog about anything technology related really seemed to be the least helpful, as that is what we had been doing the whole time, and it just gave a moment to reflect. This is definitely training I would participate in again, as I can see where we may need it just to keep up with new changes in technology.

I had only used ipod podcasts before this exercise and had never really thought about trying a different sort. I like podcast.net the most, it seemed that the search results were the most relevant, I found blackhillstv podcast, which is something that i had never found using apples podcast search.

Netlibrary is a great idea, and I do hook up my computer to my sterio, but the fact that it doesn't support the type of MP3s files used by ipods (it takes wma files) is very inconviant. Maybe if/when it does I will use this tool more, my ipod was expensive enough without buying a different media device.

This could be adictive, Though I was really supprised that in the house swap there were only 2 requests for Sturgis, you know considering how expensive it is to stay there, I would have swaped my house to get away from the rally with someone who wanted to be closer. I was disipointed to see that there appeared to be spam like postings though (same thing every day, like buy forclosed homes here)

Zoho: This seems like a great option if you are not sure what type of documents the person that you are sending to supports. The options are all similar to what you would have from microsoft word, and even the icons are identical so it is very easy to figure out. The Emoticons are a fun bonus

The post to blog option is also very easy, though I was sad to see that I had to come back and title it.

I chose this video because I have a Chihuahua, thought it was funny ( really love the jaws music, and it was a rather short clip. I noticed that longer clips can take to long to load. This search options were really easy to use, and i liked that i could browse catagories. I was also glad to see that they make it so easy to put videos onto your blog.

I added a blog about Sand Mountain Nevada ( I wish I could have figured out how to include a picture) so I will stick it here. The PBwiki is fun but this one had way to much to look at/read, that it is not very viewer friendly. A better organized wiki would be better, but I guess that is the major downfall of having something where everyone can add info however they want.

I saw two wikis in this activity that really seemed to fit, and take full advantage of wiki functions. The Library Success, Best Practices; is a great resource sharing idea for librarians, and the wiki format allows it to be added to without hassle, the wealth of information on this site just amazed me. I also like the book lovers wiki, it was basically a book review wiki, and I do believe we have something similar to it here; though i have yet to use it.

Web 2.0 gives librarians the opportunity and the inspiration to make our services more user friendly. Where other book resources such as Amazon and half.com let their users add comments and reviews to individual items, and services like delicious and library thing let there users tag not only their physical library but also the "library" of information available on the web. These are all technologies that could be Incorporated into the library database. It is no longer up to only the librarians to assign subjects to their materials, it is now possible for users to do so also.

Gizmo's and gossip and politics oh my. I noticed on technorati that there is definitely a theme to the top blogs, either hitting on the newest trends in technology, the latest gossip about our favorite famous stars, and of course the strong opinionated blogs about the current political situations not only here in the U.S. but in other countries. Am I surprised that these are the chosen few out of the thousands of blogs out there to have clawed their way to the top 100, not really! Just look at the local newspaper, msn.com or any other popular source of information and you see the same hot topics. Blogs and the ease that we can now search them, with tools like technorati, have given us many more voices to listen to though about our beloved topics.

This is a very handy tool, much better than trying to manage my multiple folders, the tags are much more instinctive. I could see where this would be very useful from as a reference tool. Useful sites could be easly organized and accessed by not only staff but also by our patrons if we were to tie it into our website.

I can see where some people would find this a very usefull tool, I liked that I could use pre-created searches, but I do not really have certain sites that I prefer to search more than others. After highjacking other peoples search rolls though I did find it much more useful.

I really enjoyed adding my books to the catalog, and seeing how many people had the same titles, It also helped me organize a portion of my own collection, the tags were very handy; though I'm afraid if I added all my books I would have to upgrade to a payed account. I also joined the librarians who librarything group, which had a few interesting topics up for discussion. If or when I have more time I think I may have to add comments about my titles.

I found that using the blogline search was the easiest to use, and came up with the most usefull feeds. The biggest problem I had with the other search options was the amount of hits you received back just because the search words happened to be mentioned in someones blog (though you could narrow down by searching tags). I was not really interested in adding other people's blogs to my feed, as I tend to only read blogs by people I know already.

Since I was old enough to make pictures on my first computer, a 1983 portable compac which wighted more than 20lb and was larger then most desk top computer but only had a 6 by 6 inch screen, I have struggled to keep up with technology. Every time I think I have caught up it slips away from me when I'm not looking, leaving me to catch up all over again. I like to pretend I am tech savey with my motion detecting Wii, and IPod, but don't ask my how either of them works, as I only know when they don't.

I found this image on flicker, (http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=444760293&size=s) I had a lot of fun putting in random searches and looking through the popular tags but the most interesting search option had to me the map, though it seems a bit under developed.
